The best camera is the one that you have with you. Photography has long been a hobby of mine, and since I got my iPhone, I have taken more photos than I ever have. Here is my "Best of 2010" as seen through the lens of my iPhone! Happy Holidays!
It’s Fall…
No doubt about it, fall is here. Although we enjoyed a beautiful first day if the new season, the days since have not been as nice.
Fall signifies the "end" of the summer boating season, which for many ends after labor day. Really, there's no "season"- just a time when activity slows, and I don't venture as far.
I had a great boating summer. Actually, it began in spring with voyages as far south as Seattle and ended as far north as Telegraph Harbor.

Making a deposit in the “Karma Bank”
While out running the engines to warm them up for their beginning of the season oil change, I came across two guys in a small boat that was dead in the water just off Cap Sante. Completing my good deed for the day, I towed them to the launch.
The setup I rigged for towing was to make a bridle out of two 15 or so foot dock lines. The eyes on the standing end of the lines were attached to the other boat’s bow line, while the bitter end of the lines were made fast to my aft cleats. This arrangement kept the towed boat centered behind me. I’ve been meaning to make up some sort of towing bridle- I guess I already have it!
I was prepared to turn the other boat loose if need be to prevent damage to my boat. Fortunately, the conditions made it easy to help these fellow boaters.

I’ve decided to create an online “log book” to document and share my adventures on and around “Jolly Mon”, my 1970 Tollycraft 28 Express Cruiser!
I plan to post stories about some of my trips, as well as some projects as I work to keep the old boat ship shape!
I’ve owned Jolly Mon since 2004, when she was purchased from a gentleman in Bellvue, Wa. She was named “Voyager” at the time, and had the same owner for about ten years prior.
Shortly after purchase, the boat was re-named “Jolly Mon”- a name that came from my enjoyment of Jimmy Buffett’s music, my jolly nature, and my last name!
